Zusammenfassung: | Conversion of a mixture of hydrogen and carbon monoxide into a hydrocarbon effluent involves passing the mixture through catalytic plate(s) (1) comprising a catalyst compartment (12) which (a) has thickness (e) of at least 15 mm, (b) is bounded by two surface plates (2a, 2b) and (c) contains catalytic material consisting of a catalyst supported on a silicon carbide foam. Independent claims are included for: (1) a catalytic plate (1) comprising a catalytic compartment (12) with a thickness (e) of at least 15 mm, containing a catalytic material (3) (consisting of a catalyst supported on a silicon carbide foam) in contact with a first surface part (2a); (2) the preparation of the catalytic plate, by fixing the catalytic material on the first surface part to form the catalytic compartment; (3) a variant of the production of the catalytic plate, by assembling surface parts (2a, 2b, 4a, 4b) then inserting the catalytic material between the surface parts to form the catalytic compartment; (4) a reactor comprising multiple catalytic plates as above, the spaces between the plates being filled with heat exchange fluid; and (5) the use of the claimed reactor for the conversion of a mixture of hydrogen and carbon monoxide into a hydrocarbon effluent.
