Zusammenfassung:	Mycoplasma protein 8C2 (I) is used to assay biological samples for antibodies produced as a result of Mycoplasma pneumoniaeinfections. Mycoplasma protein 8C2 (I) with SEQ ID NO:2 (defined sequence of 276 amino acids given in the specification) is used to assay biological samples for antibodies produced as a result of Mycoplasma pneumoniaeinfections. Independent claims are also included for: (1) use of a nucleic acid (II) with SEQ ID NO:1 (defined sequence of 828 nucleotides given in the specification) to code for (I); (2) use of antibodies specific for (I) to assay biological samples for antigens produced as a result of Mycoplasma pneumoniae infections; (3) pharmaceutical compositions comprising (I) or (II). ACTIVITY : Antibacterial. MECHANISM OF ACTION : Vaccine.
