Zusammenfassung:	The device (1) has a cylindrical cell (2) equipped with a piston (3) providing compression on a sample placed in the cell, where the diameter of the cell and the sample are same. The piston has a body comprising a punching unit constituted of punches (4). The punches are integrated to the body of the piston and controlled independent of the compression of the piston. A measurement system measures radial deformation of the cell. An independent claim is also included for a method for measuring mechanical performance of a sample of material.
