Zusammenfassung:	The method involves causing the gravitational flow of a lubricant liquid (8) contained in an oil pan (7) of an internal combustion engine, from the oil pan towards a measuring tank (17). One value of the liquid volume contained in the tank is measured and stored. The liquid contained in the tank is subjected to a pressurized gas thrust for causing the rise of the liquid from the measuring tank towards the oil pan. Another value of the liquid volume contained in the tank is measured and stored. Lubricant consumption of the engine is obtained by finding the difference between the volume values. An independent claim is also included for a device for measurement of oil consumption of an internal combustion engine.
