Zusammenfassung:The circuit has a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) element (10) in series with a fuse (11). A pulse width modulator (16) connects or completely cuts the PTC element in a locked mode with predetermined pulse durations and/or predetermined period durations. The pulse durations and/or the period durations are predetermined and fixed, so that a measurement of an effective value of a current passing into the PTC element is always lower at the integral of fusing of the fuse.
