The control system, especially for an electric radiator with a temperature controller (3) near its base incorporating an ambient temperature probe (9), has a regulator (4) to set the required room temperature that is located in a convenient position for access and is connected to the controller via a wireless link (6), e.g. by an HF radio-frequency or infrared beam.
