Zusammenfassung: | The system has a hollow body (11) approximately symmetrical with respect to a central axis (X-X`) and a longitudinal and through hole (15) for passage of a central electrode (16). The body is covered with a hollow head (18) at the interior of compression chamber and a combustion chamber. The holes (20, 21) pierced in the head communicate with the chamber. The head forms an electrode, which surrounds an end portion (22) so that corona discharge takes place in a precombustion chamber (19) between the head and the electrode (16). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an internal combustion engine comprising an ignition system (2) a method for igniting an internal combustion engine.
