The elongated unit cooperates with a hollow elongated body (12) and is fixed to a seat of the hollow body for constituting a roof structure of a motor vehicle. A shock absorption unit (18) absorbs shock during deformation of the roof structure tending to bring the roof closer to a cab interior of a motor vehicle.
