Zusammenfassung:	Active electrochemical material for the positive electrode of a rechargeable electrochemical lithium battery comprises a mixture of: (a) a mixed oxide of lithium and at least one transition metal with the general formula Li xM 1> yO 2y where 0 = x = 1 and y = 1 or 2; (b) a mixed oxide of phosphorus, lithium and at least one transition metal with the general formula Li tM 2> zPO 4 where 0 = t = 3 and z = 1 or 2. Independent claims are also included for: (i) a positive electrode for an electrochemical lithium battery containing this active material; (ii) a rechargeable electrochemical lithium battery incorporating this positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator and an electrolyte.
