Zusammenfassung: | Use of an oral synergistic composition (A) for improving the bioavailability and efficacy of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (I). (I) is associated with a complex (X) that activates cellular metabolism and contains at least two vitamins (A, B2, B9 and E) and at least two minerals or trace elements (magnesium, zinc, copper and selenium), to stimulate neuronal function. ACTIVITY : Cardiant; Neuroprotective; Cerebroprotective; Antidepressant; Tranquilizer; Nootropic; Anorectic. MECHANISM OF ACTION : Possibly Vitamin E and selenium inhibit oxidation of (I), while the other components of (X) are catalysts/co-enzymes involved in the metabolism of neuronal cells and in synthesis of neurotransmitters. A monolayer (10% confluent) of PC2 neuronal cells was cultured in a nutrient medium that was not replaced and the density (cells/mm2>) of the culture fell from 7618 (day 7) to zero (day 21). When the culture was treated with omega-3 fatty acids (I), the density after 21 days was 1152, but when cultures were treated with (I) and a mixture containing Vitamins A, B2, B9 and E, plus magnesium, zinc, copper and selenium, the density after 21 days was 4736 (concentrations of the various treatment compounds are not stated). |
