Zusammenfassung:Plasma-treated textile surface structures containing artificial fibres, showing a high degree of wettability with a rise height (after 30 minutes in aqueous potassium hydroxide solution) of at least 80 mm as made and at least 75 mm after 3 months in air at 25[deg]C. An independent claim is also included for a method for the production of hydrophilic surface structures as defined above by (a) preparation of a textile surface structure by known methods and (b) passing the material through a barrier discharge from a corona generator comprising a first resonating circuit (RC1) and a second resonating circuit (RC2) combined with a high-voltage transformer, in which RC1 is a series circuit with a shock coil and a condenser connected by a switch, a diode and a shock coil to the primary winding of a high-voltage transformer, and the inductance of the shock coil in RC1 and the criterion for switching derived from the voltage in the condenser in RC2 are such that the pulse repetition frequency of the voltage produced in the primary winding is less than the natural frequency of RC2 in stable oscillation.
