Zusammenfassung:	Production of a catalytic unit, in which a casing (3) is formed from sheet metal and a catalytic body (2) surrounded by a support cover is placed in the casing, involves producing the casing (3) from several layers of sheet metal. The casing is wound from a strip. The support cover is compressed after being applied on the catalytic body. The casing is pre-tensioned with a tightening strip before inserting the catalyst body (2) surrounded by the support cover. An Independent claim is given for: (a) utilization of the above process in the manufacture of a catalyst for combustion gas; and (b) the catalytic unit.
