Zusammenfassung:	A control parameter can perceptibly be modified between first and second markers representing a range of increase of this parameter. The procedure for modifying the parameter, e.g. sound, has the following steps: a step in which the ratio length of step to length of range is calculated, a step in which the ratio is varied so that the speed of parameter change can be varied. An Independent claim is made for a device that uses the above procedure to change its operating parameters.
