Zusammenfassung:Growing hepatitis C virus (HCV) comprises: (i) inoculating cells with HCV so that the virus is adsorbed; (ii) washing cells to remove the inoculum; (iii) incubating the cells below 33 deg C under an atmosphere containing 0-3 % carbon dioxide and in the presence of 0-2 % fetal calf serum (FCS) so that the virus multiplies; and (iv) harvesting the virus from cell lysate and/or culture supernatant.
