Cette traverse est rapprochée de l'utilisateur par un dispositif d'actionnement (16) en cas d'accident, en suivant une certaine trajectoire d'activation, puis la traverse est déplacée en sens inverse avec freinage sur une trajectoire de dissipation dont la portion initiale suit la portion finale de la trajectoire d'activation. A vehicle seat has a horizontal safety bar which restricts the displacement of the occupant in the event of an accident.
