The plate can be chromed and can be covered with a coating of chromium oxide having a hexagonal crystalline structure (41). The heat exchanger can have a body (11) with an inlet nozzle (19) for the feed water (20) and an outlet nozzle for the vapour (25). The body can have a reservoir foe inlet fluid (15) and an outlet fluid reservoir (16). The tubes can extend vertically with the support plate extending horizontally.
