Zusammenfassung:	The retainer consists of a radially-deformable and open elastic metal ring made from thin sheet metal, with a cylindrical section (22) and at least one radial edge (23,25). The radial edges are designed to engage simultaneously with an annular groove (14) in the mechanical component (13), and with the fixed ring (11) of the bearing, forming an axial stop for the latter. The radial edges on the metal ring can be made in the form of two rows of tongues which are bent alternatively inwards and outwards. The tongues engaging with the groove in the mechanical component can be bent over to form an acute angle with the cylindrical section.
