Compsn. cast in position for sports grounds - with elastic base layer and synthetic upper layer

A synthetic complex cast in position for sports grounds comprises an elastic base layer (CB) and a synthetic coating (RS) on the base, with the ratio of thicknesses of CB/RS being 8-25. Pref. the thickness of the synthetic coating is 1-6 mm, and the ratio of thicknesses of CB/RS is 10-20. The elastic base layer contains 30-90 wt.% of rubber granules, esp. of size 1-16 mm, 3-25% (5-15%) of heat-hardening resin and 7-67% of mineral granules. The base may be rendered watertight with a resin. USE/ADVANTAGE - Appln. is in gymnasium floors, athletic tracks, synthetic turf and games fields. The surface has no joints. The top coating may be applied after only about 12 h, and may be thinner.
