Zusammenfassung:New orange-red dye (I) comprises a type-1 R-phycoerythrin extracted from the red alga Dilsea carnosa. Pref. (I) has UV/VIS absorption maxima at 498-500, 538-540 and 565-567nm, and fluorescence emission and excitation maxima at 575-577 and 498-502nm respectively. (I) is obtd. by macerating thalli of D.carnose, filtering, centrifuging for 20-40mins. adding (NH4)2SO4 to the supernatant, centrifuging for 20-50mins., resuspending the pellet in H2O and dialysing for 24-48hrs.. Pref. the thalli are macerated in twice their wt. of water for 4-8 weeks. The (NH4)2SO4 is added to 30-60% satn.. The dialysed soln. is freeze dried. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) is useful as colourant in cosmetic, dietetic, food and pharmaceutical prods., and as an immunofluorescence label. (I) is water-soluble, is stable at pH 4.5-10, is stable up to 60 deg. C and can be stored in daylight for long periods without losing its colour. L'invention concerne un colorant de couleur rouge orangé constitué d'une R-phycoérythrine de type 1. Ce colorant est remarquable par le fait qu'il est extrait de l'algue rouge Dilsea carnosa. L'invention concerne également un procédé pour son obtention et ses utilisations en cosmétique, dans l'industrie alimentaire et autres, notamment à titre d'agent traceur en immunofluorescence.
