Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a depilating apparatus for removing hair from the human body, having a housing (2) which the user can hold in one hand, having a rotary cylinder (4) which can be driven by a motor (10) and has clamping elements (42,43), having clamping elements (42,43) which are movable relative to one another, and having abutments (73) associated with said clamping elements, and having an actuating element (26,27) for actuating the movable clamping elements (42,43), one abutment (73) being provided between each of the clamping elements (42,43) which are movable relative to one another, and each of the movable clamping elements (42,43) interacting alternately once in each case with the two adjacently arranged abutments (73) during one revolution of the rotary cylinder (4).
