Zusammenfassung:	In a system for triggering an inductive consumer, particularly a consumer for controlling an internal combustion engine, the consumer is coupled via a circuit element to a voltage source. A control means triggers the circuit element in the switching mode for a preselected ON duration. Furthermore, means are provided for measuring the current flowing through the inductive consumer. To measure an actual current value, a first current value is measured shortly after the closing operation, and a second current value is measured immediately before the opening operation.
