Process for the synthesis of an alpha -halogenated carboxylic acid halide

The present invention relates to a process for the synthesis of an alpha -halogenated carboxylic acid halide by reaction of a gem-polyhalogenated compound with carbon monoxide in the presence of a catalyst comprising a salt of a metal from group IIIA or VA of the periodic table of the elements, a salt of a metal from group IB and a salt of a metal from group IIB, IIIB, IVB, VB, VIB, VIIB or VIII, which in particular makes use under relatively gentle temperature and pressure conditions possible. The alpha -halogenated carboxylic acid halides are intermediates in the synthesis of pharmaceutical or plant-protection products. La présente invention concerne un procédé de synthèse d'un halogénure d'acide carboxlique alpha halogené par réaction d'un composé gem polyhalogéné avec le monoxyde de carbone en présence d'un catalyseur comprenant un sel d'un métal du groupe IIIA ou VA du tableau périodique des éléments, un sel d'un métal du groupe IB et un sel d'un métal du groupe IIB, IIIB, IVB, VB, VIB, VIIB ou VIII, ce qui permet notamment une mise en œuvre dans des conditions relativement douces de température et pression. Les halogénures d'acides carboxyliques alpha halogénés sont des intermédiaires de synthèse de produits pharmaceutiques ou phytosanitaires.
