The technical sector of the invention is that of subcalibre projectiles. The projectile according to the invention comprises a sabot (1) consisting of a plurality of segments (1a, 1b, 1c) surrounding a bar (2) made of heavy material, and it is characterised in that it comprises means (3) carried by the various segments of the sabot in the region of their rear part and constituting a joint for the relative detachment of the segments in pairs.
