Zusammenfassung:In order to protect a cooling tower against frost, a netting 26 comprising, in particular, wires 26a extending over its whole height is placed at the upper part of the air inlet openings 10. During periods of frost, relatively cold water is made to trickle along these wires, which water is delivered by a distribution channel 38 provided with slits 38c by way of which each of the wires 26a passes through the bottom of the channel with some play. In order to melt the sheet of ice which has thus been formed, relatively hot water is sprayed onto the bottom part of the netting from a spray bar 42 placed halfway up the netting. POUR PROTEGER CONTRE LE GEL UN REFRIGERANT ATMOSPHERIQUE, ON PLACE A LA PARTIE SUPERIEURE DES FENETRES D'ENTREE D'AIR10 UN GRILLAGE26 COMPORTANT NOTAMMENT DES FILS26A S'ETENDANT SUR TOUTE SA HAUTEUR. EN PERIODE DE GEL, ON FAIT RUISSELER SUR CES FILS DE L'EAU RELATIVEMENT FROIDE DISTRIBUEE PAR UNE GOULOTTE38 DE REPARTITION MUNIE DE FENTES38C PAR LESQUELLES CHACUN DES FILS26A TRAVERSE LE FOND DE LA GOULOTTE AVEC UN CERTAIN JEU. POUR FAIRE FONDRE LE RIDEAU DE GLACE AINSI FORME, ON PROJETTE SUR LA PARTIE BASSE DU GRILLAGE DE L'EAU RELATIVEMENT CHAUDE, A PARTIR D'UNE RAMPE D'ASPERSION42 DISPOSEE A MI-HAUTEUR DU GRILLAGE.
