Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to a method for restoring a construction, and particularly a civil engineering structure, having, between constituent elements, one or more joints, at the locations of which it is advisable to establish or restore structural continuity. This method is characterised in that a temporary force of controlled value is first exerted in the plane of the joint 1 in question, so as to generate, take up or modify therein a prestressing of predetermined strength, after which, secondly, the joint is locked in the so-called "open" position, so as to provide a permanent replacement for the initially created temporary force which may then be relaxed.
