Zusammenfassung:1. A thermally insulating material of the syntactic type comprising a fill of hollow glass microbeads distributed within a matrix based on a material which is liquid in the initial state, i.e. prior to cross-linking, and at ambient temperature, which material is intended to be used at temperatures of at least 400 degrees C and is characterized in that the liquid matrix which serves as a binder for said fill of hollow microbeads is constituted by a silicone elastomer or resin respectively, used a such, i.e. without a solvent, depending on whether it is desired that the solid final product after cross-linking is flexible or rigid respectively, with the degree of flexibility of stiffness both in the flexible product case and in the rigid product case being a function of the proportion of hollow microbead filler present in the mixture.
