Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to a ribbed sheet metal shell for rotating electrical machines, the curved portion of which consists of an arched steel sheet on which cooling ribs are formed by compressed folds of the said sheet. To improve mechanical strength and the effectiveness of cooling of the shell, the curved portion 1 is formed by a prismatic surface containing a number of lateral faces equal to the number of cooling ribs 2 placed on lateral edges of the said prismatic surface; the cooling ribs are stiffened by a longitudinal weld preferably placed on the inner surface of the curved portion of the shell.
