Zusammenfassung: | A process for permanently fixing injector nozzles or their bases in recesses or bores in the injection head of a rocket combustion chamber is claimed. The novelty is that the bases (1) of the injector nozzles (2) are permanently fixed in the injection head by a diffusion welding process comprising. (a) press-fitting the esp. cylindrical bases (i) in corresponding surface-compacted bores (4) in the injection head by (i) applying a diffusion welding interlayer (3) to the bases (1) to oversize their diameter (d), wrt. the precise internal diameter (D) of the bones (4) by an amt. necessary for prodn. of compressive stress, (ii) heating the injection head to the press-fitting temp. at which the relatively cold bases (i) can be inserted in the bore (4) and (iii) opt. cooling the injection head. (b) heating the injection head together with the injector nozzles (2) or their bases, together with the injector nozzles (2) or their bases, to the diffusion welding temp. and holding at temp. esp. for dissolution or complete diffusion of the material of the interlayer (3); and (c) rapidly cooling the injection head and the nozzles (2) to room temp. to obtain a refined structure with increased strength.
