Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to the preparation of pure hydrazine from hydrazine hydrate. The process of the invention consists in: a. Dissolving in hydrazine hydrate, at a temperature of 50 to 100 DEG C, a quantity of sodium hydroxide which causes the formation of two liquid phases, a heavy phase depleted in hydrazine and a light phase enriched in hydrazine; b. Separating the light phase from the heavy phase; c. Passing the light phase over a cation exchange resin in order to remove the Na ions contained in the said light phase; d. Subjecting the deionised light phase to one or more zone crystallisation operations until a product is obtained assaying at least 99 % by weight as hydrazine. Hydrazine is useful as a fuel for satellite-stabilising engines.
