Zusammenfassung: | a. Catalyst for reforming hydrocarbons into fractions rich in aromatic products or in antidetonating fuels, consisting of alumina agglomerates containing a small proportion of platinum and halogen. b. The catalyst consists essentially of agglomerates of gamma-aluminium oxide which has an apparent density lying between 0.40 and 0.75 kg/l, a specific surface between 160 and 280 m /g and a pore volume of at least 0.50 cm /g, the proportion by volume of the pores whose radius is from 2 to 10 nm being from 70 to 90 %, that of the pores whose radius is between 50 and 1000 nm from 2 to 20 % and that of the pores whose radius is between 1.5 and 4 nm from 35 to 65 % of the total pore volume. c. The catalysts according to the invention are particularly suitable for obtaining fuels of high octane number or concentrates of aromatic products.
