Zusammenfassung:	APPARATUS FOR COMPACTING SOIL, CONCRETE AND OTHER MATERIALS An apparatus for compacting soil comprises a tamping plate having anvils, an impact mechanism coupled to the tamping plate and comprising a crank gear which is accommodated in a casing and has hammer rams and a flywheel secured to a shaft thereof, and a reaction mass means having hammers. The reaction mass means is provided with an anvil which is mounted for vertical movement. The hammer rams are oppositely directed and mounted coaxially with the anvils of the plate and reaction mass means, and cranks imparting motion to the hammer rams are mounted on the shaft in a phase-shifted relationship with each other with an angle of shift ?.
