Zusammenfassung: | Housing for alkaline electro-chemical hybrid cells with one gaseous reactant, specially metal oxide-hydrogen cells such as an Ni/H2 cell with a positive nickel oxide storage electrode and a negative hydrogen catalyst electrode, is made of light metal, based on aluminium or magnesium and contains several cell chambers. The inside of the housing, which has a cross-section with straight-line boundaries, is lined with an electrolyte resistant coating. Pref. housing (1) with two cell chambers to form a double cell is made of an upper (2) and a lower (3) part of symmetrical shape. The inside space (4) contains the compressed gas and the stack of electrodes (5). The pressurised gas is sealed by connecting the two parts along the joint (6) by welding or by an O-ring or a packing. The two stacks are joined through openings (13) in the partition (14) through pole connectors (15). Cooling channels are cast in the walls.
