Method and device for interrupting the operation of an apparatus using a gaseous fluid

The present invention relates to a method and a device for interrupting the operation of an apparatus using a gaseous fluid. This device comprises essentially an envelope 2 within which there is arranged a heating resistance 4 placed in the path of the gaseous fluid, a first thermal probe 5 arranged upstream and in the vicinity of one 4a of the ends of the resistance 4, and a second thermal probe 6 arranged downstream at a long distance from the other end 4b of the resistance 4, so that, for a given temperature spread of the probes 5 and 6 as a function of the speed of the fluid in the envelope 2, the operation of the apparatus is interrupted or otherwise when this spread is exceeded. The device of the invention applies for exmaple to a manifold for contaminated air and combustion products in the upper part of a gas boiler.
