Zusammenfassung:The spacer is intended for use on overhead lines with a max. operating voltage not exceeding 1000V between conductors. It consists of a straight portion (1) which is channel shaped in section. At each end (2) the channel is formed or cut to make a head which has a recess (3). The dimensions of the recess are such that all normally used conductors will fit into it. Mounted on a hinge (10) in the channel section is a spring (5) loaded lever (4). To clip the spacer onto the cable the latter is entered into the slot leading to the recess (3) and pushed against the pressure of the lever spring (5) to enter it into the recess. When settled in the recess the spring loaded lever (4) keeps the cable in position. The spacer may be made of insulating material, or of metal covered with an insulation layer.
