Zusammenfassung:The transducer utilises sequences of digital optical signals and remotely transmits these signals to a calculating unit with opto-electronic inputs which analyses and processes the signals, making them directly usable. The device has a reading track (11) which is mounted on the moving object whose displacements are to be measured. The track takes the form of a plane strip (12) on which there are four reading lines (L1,L2,L3,L4) parallel to the longitudinal axis of the strip. Each line is composed of a series of optically reflecting sectors (13) alternating according to a predetermined code with a series of optically absorbing sectors (14). To the right of the reading track there is a reading head (15) having a body (15') crossed by four optical fibres (16,17,18,19) each corresponding to a reading line with their ends aligned normal to the plane of the reflecting sectors as they pass under the head. The other ends of the fibres are connected either to a continuously emitting luminous source (23) or to the opto-electronic inputs of the calculating unit (24).
