Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to an automatic, infinitely variable speed transmission for vehicles, especially passenger motor vehicles, with a control unit for adjusting the transmission ratio as a function of the position of the accelerator pedal, the control unit increasing the transmission ratio when the accelerator pedal is operated from the idling position at an essentially constant control speed of the engine up to the maximum value and reducing it to the minimum value when the accelerator pedal is released. In order to achieve as comfortable a vehicle handling as possible, the level of the control speed is to be variable as a function of the operating state of the drive motor, in that in the case of cold starting and warming up the drive motor the control speed is increased compared to the warm operating state.
