Zusammenfassung: | The invention relates to a telecommunication cable consisting of an optical fibre (LWL) made from glass (1), which serves the purpose of signal transmission, a concentric buffer tube (2) (primary (cushion) coating), which protects the glass surface and rests on the optical fibre (1), and a second buffer tube (3, 4) (secondary coating), which envelops said primary coating (2). The object is to specify such a cable with as high a tensile strength as possible, as small a diameter as possible and as low a weight as possible. This is achieved in essence by constructing the tension-proof buffer tube (3, 4) from at least 500 tension-proof fibres (3) with a fibre diameter of at most 15 mu m. In this arrangement, these fibres (3) are held together in the circumferential direction by means of a plastic (4). The invention is applied principally in remote control cables.
