2-Hydrazino-imidazoline and -tetra:hydro-pyrimidine derivs. - useful as fungicides and bactericides, esp. for plant protection

Imidazoline and tetrahydropyrimidine derivs. of formula (I) and their acid-addn. salts are new. R1 is (i) 1-18C alkyl, (ii) 3-6C cycloalkyl opt. substd. by lower alkyl, (iii) R5, R6-phenyl, where R5 and R6 are H, 1-20C alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, alkenyloxy, cycloalkyl, CF3, halogen, opt. substd. aryl or opt. substd. aryloxy, (iv) 5-indanyl opt. 2-substd. by lower alkyl, (v) 1- or 2-naphthyl opt. substd. by lower alkyl or alkoxy, (vi) an N-contg. heterocycle opt. substd. by R5 and R6, or (vi) an S-contg. heterocycle opt. substd. by lower alkyl, and R2 is H or lower alkyl, or CR1R2 is a cycloalkane ring opt. substd. by 1-5C alkyl; n= 0 or 1; R3 and R4 are H or lower alkyl. (I) have fungicidal and bactericidal activity and are esp. useful for controlling phytopathogenic fungi, e.g. Uromyces phaseoli, Botrytis fabae and Ersiphe graminis.
