Zusammenfassung:The fibre optic cable connector for multiple fibres consist of a collar (17) of larger diameter than the cable (1). It has a number of longitudinal openings (18) to take each optical fibre (6). Three longitudinal holes (25) around the periphery have a triangular section are used to hold and locate the connector by inserting a centering pin (27). The locating holes are reinforced by inclusion of a hardened steel pin bearing (29) on each side of the triangle. The centre of the collar has a dowel peg (11) of the same diameter as the cable. This has a central hole (14) in which the reinforcing core of the cable is located and longitudinal grooves (12) aligned with the holes (10) in the plate. The plate and peg are produced by a single piece moulding. The angular pitch of the grooves in the peg and the collar is the same as the pitch of the fibres in the cable. The unsleeved fibres are compressed into the bases of the grooves in the peg and collar and glued in place. The free end of the fibres and peg are machined using double granulometry without the need to polish the fibre ends. LA PRESENTE INVENTION CONCERNE UN CONNECTEUR POUR ELEMENT DE CABLE A FIBRES OPTIQUES.LE CONNECTEUR COMPORTE UNE COLLERETTE17 DE DIAMETRE SUPERIEUR A CELUI DE L'ELEMENT DE CABLE, UN ALESAGE LONGITUDINAL25 DANS LEQUEL EST DESTINEE A ETRE INSCRITE UNE TIGE DE CENTRAGE27, ET DES ARMATURES DE RENFORT29 REGULIEREMENT REPARTIES AUTOUR DE L'ALESAGE25 EN ETANT CHACUNE EN CONTACT AVEC AU MOINS UNE PARTIE DU POURTOUR EXTERNE DE L'ALESAGE EN SECTION TRANSVERSALE SUR LEQUEL PORTE LA TIGE DE CENTRAGE27.L'INVENTION S'APPLIQUE NOTAMMENT AU RACCORDEMENT DE DEUX CABLES DE TRANSMISSION PAR FIBRES OPTIQUES.
