The invention relates to the constructive design of electrical domestic ironing machines. The aim of the invention is a universal mode of construction which allows the production of different constructional sizes without a high outlay. The technical object achieved by the invention is to provide such a constructive design of the domestic ironing machine that the main subassemblies can be made standard for all constructional sizes. The essence of the invention is that the basic frame consists of a drive unit, electrical unit, bearing block and trough bearing as well as four tube segments and a support bearing, the two tube segments connecting the trough bearing and the removable support bearing to one another and being of variable length, and one tube segment of the basic frame being used for mounting the pivoting shaft. The sector of use of the invention relates to electrical ironing machines, especially domestic ironing machines.
