Zusammenfassung:Liq. pyrolysates contg. 39 wt.% aryl and/or alkenyl derivs. of C2H2, or their mixts. are used in the prodn. of new polymeric petroleum resins by radical polymerisation at 80-250 deg.C. Pref. pyrolysates contain (1) 7-39 wt.% aryl and/or alkenyl C2H2 derivs. prepd. at 1200-1600 deg.C, (2) 5-22 wt.% aryl and/or alkenyl C2H2 deriv. mixts. prepd. at 1200-1600 deg.C and at 750-850 deg.C or (3) prods. pyrolysed at 750-850 deg.C mixed with comonomers of aryl and/or alkenyl C2H2 derivs. Uses include lacquer, paint and tyre industry, and the prodn. of elastomers, paper and chipboard. The practical use of liq. environmentally polluting pyrolysates prevent further environmental pollution. The resins can be prepd. without raw material purification, catalyst sepn., equipment corrosion, waste and waste water pollution. Resin yield is increased 1.5-1.7 times and resin unsaturation 1.3-2 times. The resins are light-coloured, have good physical-mechanical properties in coating, and dissolve well in aliphatic solvents, e.g. mixts. of 80-90% white spirit and 10-20% petroleum solvent or xylene.
