Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to mixed metal sulfide catalysts which comprise at least two metals, selected from cobalt, nickel, iron and manganese, and have been prepared by precipitation with H2S or a suitable sulfide from an aqueous solution containing the said metals, preferably in the form of a mixture of water-soluble salts, for example nitrates. The mixed metal sulphides are then stored preferably in the form of moist alkaline pastes. The mixed sulphides thus prepared have excellent catalytic properties when they are used in chemical and especially electrochemical processes.
