Zusammenfassung:The resistor fabric consists of a weft of conducting wires woven with a warp of insulating wire or threads, esp. asbestos threads; and the fabric is located between two layers of an organic resin, which keeps the outer air away from the fabric. One pref. resistor consists of a flexible sheet of panel where the resin is an elastomer, esp. a silicone elastomer. The resistor fabric may alternatively be located between two layers of another fabric pre-impregnated with resin, esp. a glass fibre fabric coated with polyester. The three layers are hot pressed to produce a rigid sheet or panel. Used. e.g. as flexible resistance heater sheet which can be bent round an object, or a transparent resistor sheet encapsulated in a polyester.
