Pivoting retractable ski brake - has brake shoes on arms joined by flexible wire passing through pedal moved by spring

The retractable ski brake has two arms (3) articulated round a horizontal axle (X,X'), transverse to the ski (S), on each of which there is a brake shoe (4). The arms are joined to each other above the ski by a flexible wire (5) which passes through a curved hole (6) in a pedal (7). A spring (8), fixed to the pedal, pulls the brake shoes into the braking position, under the bottom of the ski, and raises the pedal. The arms and joining wire can be separate wires or can be one piece of wire.
