Zusammenfassung:Electroslag remelting appts. comprises an electrode feeding device mounted on a support stand above a mould for producing ingots. Two pairs of drive rollers are in friction contact with the surface of a consumable electrode fed into the cavity of the mould. A rotatable drum is disposed above the rollers and has a vertical shaft mounted on the stand. Through sockets in the drum accommodate vertically oriented electrode blanks. The sockets are arranged in a circle which intersects the axis of symmetry of the rollers. Gates close the sockets at the bottom of the drum to support the electrode blanks prior to their jointing to the consumable electrode. Used for prodn. of large-size ingots. The consumable electrode is built up as it is consumed so that the electroslag process can be conducted without interruptions. The electrode is fed into the mould cavity automatically. Clamps are not required for the electrodes. The rotary drum is interchangeable to permit loading outside the appts. and shortening of the intervals between remeltings.
