Zusammenfassung: | The method comprises the period measurement of the electrical impedance of the electrode gap, which is formed by the tool electrode and the workpiece electrode from the metal to be processed, in the pauses, of constant duration and frequency, between the discharge pulse groups, separating out the amplitude of the reactive component of the signal which is proportional to the electrical impedance of the electrode gap, comparing said amplitude with the absolute value of this signal, which corresponds to the impedance of the electrode gap when the active discharge pulses are off, and varying the consumption of the active fluid which is supplied to the processing zone in inverse proportion to the relative amplitude value of the signal reactive component. The invention is expediently used for increasing the productivity of the erosion process and the processing accuracy of the workpieces, and to prevent damage to workpieces having a complex profile and parts consisting of conductive materials which can be processed only with difficulty.
