Zusammenfassung: | New catalyst for the carbonylation of aromatic nitro cpds. contains (a) 1.6-4.0 wt.% Mg oxide, Cal oxide or Zn oxide, (b) 48.8.-77 wt.% Pd oxide; and (c) Mo oxide to 100 wt.%. Used in carbonylation of aromatic nitro cpds. to give e.g. mono- and di-isocyanates useful in the prodn. of polymethane prods. and pesticides. Inclusion of Mg, Cal or Zr oxide in the catalyst increases its activity and selectivity, so that conversion of starting materials is increased to 100% and the desired end prods. are obtd. in up to 98 or 99% yield.
