Zusammenfassung:A heat insulation lining is applied to the inside walls of the revolving mould of a centrifugal casting machine by a scoop which has the same length as the mould. The scoop is inserted through a central hole of the horizontal mould and is slowly turned opposite to the direction of the mould rotation. The thermal conductivity of the free running insulating material in altered across the length of the scoop to suit the temperature field of the metal to be cast. The result is a very uniform metal temp. distribution during the crystallisation process; when a bimetallic tube is cast by a centrifugal process, the two metals become firmly welded together.
