Zusammenfassung: | The plant consists of a drum rotating on a horizontal axis and divided into a row of compartments connected to each other and extending from a charging hole to a discharging hole. One compartment (I) is used for agglomeration and mixing of the charge, which then enters a spraying compartment (II) in which a binder is used to make pellets of a desired size. The pellets then level through >=4 compartments (III) employed to increase the mechanical strength and size of the pellets. Compartments (III) each possess the same length as compartment (II); but compartment (I) is 2-2.5 times the length of the other compartment so a dry charge can be fed into compartment (I). The ore derivs. include enriched slags obtd. by melting. Drum can also be used in the winning of refractory metals.
