Zusammenfassung:	Imidazoles of the formula I or of one of its acid addition salts, in which X denotes oxygen or NH and Y denotes bromine, fluorine, iodine, -NO2, -OR, -CO2R, -CONR R or -SO2NR R , or, if X is NH, Y may also represent Cl, CN or alkyl having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R denotes an alkyl group having from 1 to 18 carbon atoms, and R and R , which may be identical or different, denote hydrogen or an alkyl group having from 1 to 18 carbon atoms, have a pesticidal action. The compounds of the formula I are prepared by the processes indicated in Patent Claims 9 to 13.
